Kindy 500

One of the big activities that our school does for the Kindergartners is the Kindy 500. Each student gets to make a car out of a box & then on the day of the Kindy 500 they bring it to school, have a program for the parents where they sing some patriotic songs & then they get to "drive" around the school in their cars while all the parents watch. Then they "drive" to different American landmarks & learn about the history of the United States.

Mark decided he wanted to make a green Jeep, since green is his favorite color & Jeeps are his favorite vehicle (or at least one of his favorites). He helped me make it from start to finish & he even included Jeep detailing that is found on a real Jeep. He literally counted down the days until the Kindy 500 & was so excited to finally take his masterpiece to school. He was really proud of his Jeep & when he came home from school that day he knew all kinds of facts about Abraham Lincoln, the bald eagle & the Statue of Liberty.

We had to take a picture of the Mystery Machine because it was Tyler's favorite car. Kudos to whoever made it...it was amazing.

That is absolutely adorable! I love that Mark actually chose what HE wanted his car to be. Love it. :)

Great job Mark! Jamie, kuddo's to you for letting Mark do his part, sometimes I think parents are quick to forget who's project it is:)

It looks like you had lots of fun Mark. Wonder if you'll have a profession dealing with cars, trucks, etc. when you grown up???

His Jeep turned out great! What a fun activity for the kids. I'm sure Mark, with his love for Jeeps and trucks and such, just adored the whole thing!
