Tonia is in town for a few more days so we decided to gather up as many people in our family as would like to and go to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi. We really enjoy the dinosaur museum and have had an annual pass for several years. Not only is it fun, but it's educational as well.
Here's Mark playing at the erosion table. If you haven't been there, the erosion table is a play area where the kids can see the effects of erosion & flash floods on the land by creating islands, dams, landmasses, etc and then see it get carved away by water. There are "fountains" that turn on every ten seconds or so and the water runs down the table cutting through the sand masses. It is supposed to be educational, but I think my kids view it as more of a glorified sandbox.

We even put the babies in & let them get their hands dirty. They loved it!

Tyler dug in the dirt for all he was worth. His little hands were grabbing fistfuls of dirt as fast as they could open and close.

Even the big kids had fun digging in the sand & making islands.

Maddy thought it was just like playing at the beach. She dipped her feet in the water and loved every second of it.

Evan balancing on the head of a dinosaur. He is so tricky.

They also have an animation studio at the beginning of the museum where you can see the sets & some of the puppets they use to animate the movies. It's pretty cool. Evan & Mark are standing in front of the Halloween set in this picture.

Mark had to draw a picture of a dinosaur, of course.

And Evan also drew a picture for the cooperation mural.

Here's our group: Alex, Kaci, Jamie, Tyler, Evan, Mark, Tonia, Livie, Bella, Ginger & Maddy

Other than the meltdowns, we had lots of fun today & we're glad we got to spend a day with our extended family. It's always nice to have an excuse to get together & spend a day away from the house.

We are fans of the Dinosaur Museum too! The only part I don't like is where you can see what dinosaur weighs the same as you do, very depressing...
